  • Overview

    Strive Living Society is a dynamic non-profit organization that strives to provide foster homes and support to children and youth with mental health, physical, and developmental disabilities, as well as challenging behaviors and medical healthcare needs. 


    Strive Living Society is currently seeking highly skilled, experienced care providers throughout the Lower Mainland to provide a warm and inclusive home environment for children and youth with complex medical, social and behavioral needs. 

     

    Contracts for Foster Care / Family Care range from $4,000.00 to $10,000.00 per month, depending on the child or youth’s level of support required. Suitability of the applicant will be determined through a screening process based on agency interviews, reference checks, submission of all required documentation (including a criminal record background check for all adults over 18 years of age that reside in the home, current first aid certification, as well as a medical note).

    Responsibilities

    We require Foster Care / Family Care providers to perform duties which may include overseeing medication administration, providing personal care, meal preparation, grocery shopping, activity planning, community integration, and transportation to and from school/medical/dental appointments.

    Qualifications

    • Valid BC Driver’s License, clear driver’s abstract and a reliable vehicle.
    • Be comfortable working individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
    • Valid Home and Vehicle insurance.
    • Negative TB Test.
    • NVCI/MANDT training is an asset but not required.
    • Extensive experience supporting individuals with complex intellectual, behavioural, and/or social needs.
    • First Aid/ CPR.
    • Criminal Record Check.

     

    All above requirements can be obtained before a child or youth moves in. Strive also offers training opportunities for our Foster Care / Family Care providers including First Aid/CPR and Mandt training.
