    Are you looking for an exciting summer job working with individuals with various abilities? Temporary summer positions have to potential to become permanent in the fall.

    Exciting opportunities available for students to join a progressive non-profit organization as a Summer Student Community Support Worker/Recreation Aid in North Vancouver or New Westminster. The positions entail working within a support team in a Day Program and community settings, assisting Adults who may have physical, developmental, mental health issues, and/or acquired brain injuries. Applicants must possess exemplary communication skills, be compassionate and energetic, and be comfortable supporting individuals with various disabilities. 

    The summer student program duration is 12 weeks from June 4th to August 24th and requires applicants to meet the following eligibility criteria:

    • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
    • have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
    • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and,
    • be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

    We have full time positions for each location in New Westminster (1), and North Vancouver (1).

    Positions are full time with shifts ranging from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday, with the possibility of occasional evening or weekend work. (The Employer reserves the right to make changes to your schedule as per the collective agreement).


    Job Duties May Include but Not Limited to:

    *Providing direct care, support, and assistance to individuals 
    *Following individual care plans
    *Implementing personal protocols, schedules, and activities
    *Accompanying/transporting individuals to appointments and activities in the community
    *Completing daily documentation

    *Hospitality duties: cleaning, cooking, laundry
    *Working as a team player

    Job Qualifications Required: 

    -Class (5) BC driver's license or Government issued ID 
    -Minimum of one (1) year in university/collage 
    -Criminal Record Clearance
    -Negative TB Test
    -Food Safe 

    -First Aid/CPR C


    Compensation: $14.00 per hour plus % in lieu of benefits
