Exciting opportunity exists for the right individual to join a progressive non-profit organization as a Recreation Coordinator. The position entails working within Strive North Van Day Program, supporting individuals with Developmental, Concurrent Disorders, FASD, Autism, in a group and one to one capacity. You would share your time between making connections in the community and linking participants to those connections as well as assisting individuals in the community and in the center, to work towards their goals, teaching life skills, community integration and social skills.
The successful candidate possesses excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, establishes and maintains rapport with clients, families and stakeholders, analyzes and resolves problems, encourages and motivates clients to participate in programs, completes proper documentation of client’s progress, provides personal care on occasion and attend staff meetings.
The TRC will report to the Community Inclusion Director and will have the ability to consult, collaborate with, and support staff, volunteers and practicum students to assist in Therapeutic Recreation service delivery to ensure that interventions are integrated and coordinated to provide continuity of care.
Shifts are: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9am to 3pm (18 hours per week) to start and possibly adding hours to full time once passes 6 month probation.
Start Date: Training to start April 1, 2018
Compensation: starting at $20.05 to $22.79/hr, plus benefits upon meeting eligibility requirements.
