Overview

We are currently seeking Foster Care/Family Care providers who are proficient in American Sign Language, and able to provide respite support for a youth in our care.

As well as being fluent in ASL, caregivers should have previous experience working with children and youth diagnosed with developmental disabilities, mental wellness concerns, and children with behavioural challenges.

Specific to this contract, family care providers will be required to do respite in their home on the weekends. The youth enjoys going to respite, and enjoys interacting with people. Respite will begin on Fridays when the youth is picked up from their home, and end Sunday when the youth is dropped off. The contract is for 8 days per month respite, at a rate of $250/day.

Ideal candidates for this contract have ASL and previous experience working with children and youth. This contract is open to a single female caregiver, or ideal for a couple who are willing to do support together. The home must have a bedroom that can be dedicated to the youth at the time of respite support, as well must meet agency/Ministry standards for children in care.
